I'd made a note on my calendar that the fifth Doug and Carlie book was to be published around this time...any update on that?

Oh pcb, I'm so sorry. I announced this on my FB author page a few months ago, but didn't think to notify Goodreads. Book #5 is not in the works right now. I am slowly working on another book, not a Doug and Carlie story. I'm not permanently closing the door on the series. Perhaps this is only a temporary setback. There are many reasons book #5 didn't come to fruition. Probably the biggest one is that I need to focus on marketing the first four books. Like a lot of writers, I'm sadly inept at marketing. I hope you'll help me spread the word. Another reason book #5 didn't happen is that I can honestly say I like all four of the books. I started #5 and just didn't have the affection for the story. So, I'm not sure whether the series is on hold or whether it will eventually be laid to rest with four books. But one thing I do know. I appreciate the small though faithful band of folks who loved the characters and made this journey so very worthwhile. Thank you. Oh, and here's the link to my author page.
