A Goodreads user asked Werner A. Lind:

I'm tempted to choose your novel. I'm a little worried to be able to finish all my 23 Netgalley first..,but I'm looking ahead to next year... It's nice to read at least one book by people my heart begins to grow. I'm wired that way. Might not be my cup of tea .. but I respect the guy you are. Which was easiest to write?

Werner A. Lind Thanks, Elyse; I appreciate that! The two short stories were definitely the easiest to write (and about equally easy), once the ideas for each one came to me. They were much shorter, and so didn't take nearly as long and were more easily crafted. The novel took me over 20 years to write, in the midst of a busy life that included going to graduate school or working full-time, and raising three daughters (which we home schooled much of that time!). It went through several rough drafts, because I didn't have all the details of the plot worked out to start with. (My wife served as my very patient beta reader, and her suggestions and input were invaluable!)
