You were correct to read into the lead in about Alex like you did. I would love to do more with the characters, and I kind of have a penchant for teasing about the side characters. I don't try to, but it just happens that way that clues will be dropped as I'm writing.
So yes, it's a set up for a possible spin off story, but at this point, I can't tell you who she's talking about. I want to, but I want to make sure I have my ducks in a row before I start blabbing ;) Because I kind of do that a lot, too. Blabbing, I mean. Lol...
