Rosa
Rosa asked Deepak Chopra:

How do our cultural influences affect our health and overall well-being and how do we utilize those beliefs to our best advantage while changing those habits that may be harming us?

Deepak Chopra Dear Rosa,

Habits are complicated, since all kinds of influences -from family, friends, media, and culture - go into them. But what makes habits hard to break is that the brain supports them. We want to think and behave a different way, yet it's as if our brains insist on following the same well-worn grooves.

I think a very effective way to approach any habit is by becoming a better user of our brain. It can become your greatest ally in breaking old habits once you learn how to set down new pathways. The whole process is described in my book, Super Brain, written with a great researcher from Harvard Medical School, Prof. Rudy Tanzi. We wrote it to inspire people about the untapped potential that the brain holds, especially its power to renew itself and transform the reader's experience.
Love,
Deepak
