Doesn't matter. I read Fangirl first, and THEN found out about Carry On, but that's just the way I did it. Rainbow Rowell did no credit to cath in fan girl so it doesn't matter.

It doesn't really matter , they are to separate things . I read Fangirl first , because it came out first , but though fangirl has the characters from 'Carry on' in a fictional book and fanfiction , the plot is different. They are also skimmed over and not really taken in depth . The World is the same , as are the characters , but the plot is different and so are some personality aspects . (Confusing explanation) In Fangirl ... Well they are really just mentioned in experts and work along with the plot , because they are the characters from Cath's( main character in Fangirl) favorite book series , so the experts reflect and sort of mock what is happening in Cath's life or in the story up to that point. I would read 'Carry On ' first , but you can read " Fangirl " first if you want . The plots / books don't really affect each other. I Hope this helped and didn't royally confuse you . Have a nice day ! And " CARRY ON" !:)
