Well, If you want my opinion,
I think Carter and Sadie are better than Percy Jackson (says the person who is currently reading HoO #2). I think, you see a unique brother-sister relationship in this book. I also love that that you get to see the events in both Carter and Sadie's eyes and you can actually feel what they're feeling. I was EASILY able to explore their emotions which made this book so much better than PJO series where you only get Percy's view.

If you are just talking about the characters, then also I think Percy is better. I really love him. His sarcasm, the puns, everything. Even other characters like Annabeth, Luke, Leo, Hazel are better than the one's in Kane Chronicles. Though I really like Sadie
And if you are talking about the books, then obviously PJO and HoO are better than KC. The plot and everything is better.
But, Kane Chronicles is good in its own way

That depends on you. If you're a fan of witty and humorous book that involves around Egyptian Mythology and enjoys reading stories told by two main characters, I think you'll like this book. I did.
