I'm sorry to be so nosy again, but I forgot to ask how Deirdre, Tye's mother, is related to the Brodie clan in 'The Laird'? After all, Brodie's her middle name, and she would've been a child around the time of that story.

Grace Burrowes I'm working that out. Most clans have many branches and septs, and it's possible Deirdre WAS related to Michael, that he was an uncle, great uncle, or cousin at some remove. What I do know is Michael and Brenna's title was elevated to an earldom by Queen Victoria, and one of their descendants is about to get tangled up in my Highland Holiday/Sweetest Kisses world... poor laddie!
