Hannah asked Cornelia Funke:

So, you like Doctor Who too, right? Which regeneration of the Doctor were you first introduced to? For me, it was his tenth regeneration (Still not over David leaving. I miss him. And Rose. And Rory. And Jack. And Craig. I miss a lot of people.) What do you think it would've been like if he met your Inkworld characters?

Cornelia Funke :) My first Doctor was Eccleston, but I feel exactly like you about David Tennant (I even made him into a character in The Golden Yarn:) I think those episodes had the best writing although the special effects were ridiculous. There was wisdom, wit and compassion in the Doctor - and the cruelty that probably comes with immortality. The character was not bitter or cynical and I always felt the stories had grains of wisdom and tragedy in them. I still saw some of that with Matt Smith, but the writing felt more and more napoleonic (look, how clever we can be) and then....I lost interest.
Not sure whether the Doctor would get along with my Inkish characters. I think he would be far more comfortable in MirrorWorld -when Inkworld is 500 years older
