Gerard Solé asked Morgan Rhodes:

Why did you decided to change your name to Morgan Rhodes? Does it have an special meaning or a secret behind it? (I have to admitt that when i first saw the name of the author i pictures the author as an old black man (maybe because of the influence of morgan freeman or i don't know why) thanks! You are amazing and i love Falling Kingdoms!

Morgan Rhodes I know -- I am often reminded of Morgan Freeman myself when I'm called Morgan. But since he's one of my fave actors, I'm totally okay with it! ;)

I wrote many books under the name Michelle Rowen...mostly paranormal romances and often with a very comedic tone to them. (Funny Vampires is totally a thing! ;) ) When Falling Kingdoms came about, it was clear that writing them under my other name might cause some confusion and that going into a new genre (high fantasy) with a darker and more serious tone (well, most of the time, lol!!) needed a fresh name not associated with my other books. My editor and I brainstormed a good name and came up with Morgan Rhodes, which I really love a lot. Morgan is inspired by that vixen Morgan le Fay from the King Arthur legends, and Rhodes...well, I like it since it sounds like "roads," which is where fiction can take a reader, along many different and interesting roads toward potential adventure!
