Can anyone please tell me WHAT Camille saw Amma do at the pig slaughterhouse?? I got the impression that it was something sick and disgusting but....what was it? Did I miss it??

Halie I don't think Amma *did* anything there. It was just the fact that she went and watched it, and seemed to really enjoy watching it, that really creeped out Camille. She mentioned how awful it looked & smelled, and how much the pigs were clearly in distress, and that it was just an awful, uncomfortable part of the slaughterhouse - & the fact that Amma wasn't disturbed by it at all, really unnerved Camille.

Pattie Anderson The book (as compared to the HBO series) goes into more detail about how the pigs were suffering, and Amma enjoyed watching that, while Camille was really disturbed by it.
