What gave you the idea to make ATBP? Did any books, authors, or people inspire you?
Jennifer Niven
I wrote ATBP because I had known a boy like Finch and lived through a similar experience. So I really just wrote about something I knew. YA literature in general inspired me to finally write this story I'd been carrying around for so long because so much of what's being written now is brave and honest, and tackles hard subjects.
