Goodreads asked Patrick LeClerc:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Patrick LeClerc Go around it.

Write another scene, whether you just skip the part you're stuck on, or write the climax of the story. Or if you are having trouble starting a story, just write something else.As a writer, I always have stories kicking around in my head.

We all run into blocks, not sure how to work a scene. That's normal. But the biggest threat to a writer is inertia. A novel in progress stays in progress, a novel at rest stays at rest. Writing the next scene keeps the flow, and often the solution to the block will suggest itself as you work on something else.
