Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Charlene Lin Ung When my two teenage daughters found out that i was a refugee "boat person" from Vietnam, they insisted that i should share my harrowing journey living on a rusty cargo ship for over nine months as refugee. It was not easy to recall the painful experiences but I found the courage and inner strength to write for my daughters and future generations.
