Are there any authors you would recommend to anyone who wants to write for the first time, especially in the field of narrative?

Allison Larkin Hi Moh! I think the most important authors to read as someone who wants to write, are the ones who really speak to. you. Who is grabbing your attention? What kinds of stories do you like? How are they told? Go back and read your favorite books. Go to the library and read the first five pages of random books on the shelves. Pay attention to what makes you want to read more. That will start to shape your sense of how you want to approach story. As for books specially about writing, I highly recommend Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott!

Can you do me a favor and write a story about a abandoned Shetland pony and a Dalmatian dog growing up and become best friends while running away from an evil dog catcher willing to take the pony, leaving the dog so sad when the pony does get caught.
