How do you get inspired to write?

Scott Beckman Sometimes inspiration strikes me and I can't wait to get to a computer to start writing. Most of the time, however, inspiration is something I have to draw out. Like blood. It's uncomfortable and difficult but nothing gets done if I don't make it happen.

I'm fortunate that I'm generally driven to succeed at things when I put my mind to it. I'm ambitious. I don't like to fail. So inspiration is something I need and I'm willing to work to find it.
