Is there a map available online for the Staff and Sword series? Some of the geography gets a bit complicated and is important for the story, and I have a tough time visualizing it in my head.

There was a map, but it was rough and hand-draw by me, so the publisher decided not to use it. I'm working on getting it presentable and will post it when I do. In the meantime, think of Europe. Soeden would be Sweden. I did a lot of stuff like that in the first series.

Hi Mr. Carr I just started reading "A Cast of Stones", and in the very first chapter there is a phrase that I have never seen or heard before. I've looked it up and have tried to break it down, but I can't seem to make sense of it. "Twisting, he spotted Liam, all eight perfect spans of him..." I have never heard someone described like that, so I am curious as to what a "perfect span" of a person is. Thank you! ?

You're a math teacher and I presume your students know you write but is the grade level where they might be reading your books? (When I sub'ed I was surprised to find a 5 grader reading Michael Crichton.) If so, have your books come up for discussion in class or even in the hallway? Despite it being math class I'd have a hard time not trying to chat you up about them.
