Anna
Anna asked Kendare Blake:

Hi, Ms. Blake! What are some of your keys/tools to writing good, spine-chilling horror without the sentences getting too clipped? (I'm a young author and I'd like to apply my pen to the horror genre.) Also, what is your favorite book? Thanks!

Kendare Blake I could never choose a favorite book, but a good rule of thumb when writing horror is that if it scares you, it will scare someone else. Mine your own nightmares. As for sentences being clipped, when used carefully, clipped or short sentences can be good tools to ratchet up the tension. Happy writing!
