Darren Shan:
Have you read the Mange adaptations of your CDF series? If so, would you recommend them to somebody who likes the books?
Darren Shan
Hi Andrew,
yes, I've read the manga, and loved them! I actually picked the artist, Takahiro Arai, from a shortlist drawn up by my Japanese publishers. He and his team then went ahead and created the manga without any further input from me. But when it was translated into English, I was involved in the translation process -- first a translator would translate the text, then I would go through and tweak it where I felt it needed to be tweaked in order to make it read more like the books, e.g. have Mr Crepsley say "do not" and "cannot" instead of "don't" and "can't".

Hi! I'm currently rereading (well, marathoning) "The Saga of Darren Shan" and I just finished the ninth book. I'm still reeling from Mr. Crepsley's death. I was sobbing by the end--I'm not even kidding. So I was wondering, did you know that Mr. Crepsley was going to die early on in the series? Or did it just happen? And how did it feel to write about the dear old, orange-haired vampire's death?

Hello Darren, I just finished reading the first four Demonata books, I am currently reading the fifth book. I was wandering what inspired you to write this series and make every other book about the history of Grubitsch Grady's family and their curse or about the history of Lord Loss and his love for chess? P.S. I love your Cirque Du Freak series. Looking forward to reading your other books and series. :P
