Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

C.D. Verhoff I wrote a short story about a young woman who lives in a time where clones are grown for spare body parts. The nightmare begins when her clone becomes obsessed with fulfilling its purpose. My current series-in-progress, Avant Nation, spun off of that idea, going a little deeper into the future when clone technology has advanced even more, to become a story that explores what might happen if the government controlled the gene pool.
