Cory Tsuhako asked Kathy Golden:

How did you decide to start your manuscript evaluation service?

Kathy Golden Hi Cory,
Thanks for your question. The ambition of my manuscript evaluation service is to help authors eliminate repeated issues that keep readers from enjoying those authors' books. My hope is that once I evaluate a book or two, an author will get used to writing his/her book w/o those issues. I know that multiple levels of editing are expensive. I also know that authors willing diligently to work on improving their manuscripts can dramatically revise them themselves.

What is provided in a M.E. varies, but I decided to start the service because I know I can provide the kind of feedback that spills over into some of the many levels of editing. In addition, I have a natural inclination for digging out what might be thought of as "minor" inconsistencies and implausibilities. The fact is, when these issues are sprinkled throughout the novel and readers keep randomly encountering them, the readers' enjoyment is gradually weakened. Consequently, by the time and if they decides to take the time to finish the story, they come away from the book irritated and unfulfilled.
