I'm really curious about this series, but am reluctant to pick this up due to the length. Since there are illustrations, does it read quicker than an average 800+ page book, or is it still pretty dense?

Danny It does look (and feel) quite daunting, but can totally be read in a week. In Danielewski style, a lot of pages contain single sentences (or sometimes words) as he makes great use of space for sake of a more immersive experience. Highly recommend if you enjoyed his other stuff!
Adam Very fast read.
