What were some of your favorite books or authors from your childhood? Did this contribute to your love of writing?

Jesse Andrews it's so hard to know where to start the list!—but yeah, my mom is a librarian and my dad is an academic, so my sisters and i were surrounded by books from the beginning and now two of us are professional writers (and the third probably reads more than the two of us combined). i grew up on a.a. milne, roald dahl, beatrix potter, judy blume, brian jacques, isaac asimov, john irving, dave barry, john le carre—and then at some point i discovered virginia woolf and the world doubled in size.
