Christina Henry Hi Abbey, when I wrote ALICE I was actually very troubled by news stories about the kidnapping of girls by Boko Haram and also by a story I'd read about girls in Cambodia who are sold by their own families into sexual slavery. These are issues that are unfortunately very contemporary and like any writer I filter my own thoughts, worries, and experiences into my writing.
