Leo asked Michael J. Sullivan:

I know you've stated that a post-Revelations book is likely. My question is just how likely? Your work is the most fun, best written fantasy I've read in ages. I've been on a three-year kick reading very little outside the genre. I was nearing complete fatigue before I picked up Theft of Swords. You and Sanderson are head-and-shoulders above the rest. You also seem like one heck of a nice guy. Thank you for your work.

Michael J. Sullivan As I'm sure is the issue with many writers it all comes down to time. My mother's side has great longevity (she's 94 and still going strong), but my father's side has a terrible track record with "the Big C". I've already out-lived my dad (died in his late 40's) and my sister (died in her 20's). I definitely am more like my dad and Noreen than my mother and my other two siblings, so I already feel as if I live on borrowed time.

I have more stories to tell then I'll be able to with my remaining days on the earth. For that reason I can only really talk about what is definitely in the works. So let's go through my "back list" of books.

* Riyria #3 - as you probably already know is in the final stages and is coming out Oct (ebook), Nov (audio), and Dec (hardcover) of this year. That one is easy.

* More Riyria Chronicles??? - Depends on how people feel once The Death of Dulgath comes out.

* The First Empire series - is five books and yes they are all done. But that doesn't mean I don't have work left to do. I have to do editing on those and I want to "knit them up to 100% completion before I go on to a new project.

* Hollow World #2 is a high priority for me. I really liked Ellis and Pax and would like to return to them. From a "sales" perspective this isn't a big money-maker but I have a great story in mind so it constantly bumps into me so I'll not forget to write it.

* The G Book - untitled at present. It's set in Elan but doesn't have Royce, Hadrian, or any of the main crew. Technically it occurs after The Riyria Revelations but as the characters are not the ones in those books - it might not be considered a "sequel." This book came to me "fully formed" one night when Robin's snoring awoke me. I got up, outlined it and it's been waiting for over three years for me to start.

* The Fall of Percepliquis - Esrahadon's story - Again something that has been on the list for a long, long time. I really want to show how the empire fell and how Jerrish and Nevrik set off into the wildreness.

* Adventures of Jerish and Nevrik - Once FoP is out, I can see a whole series of Jerish and Nevrik as they try to avoid Seret - Think Alias Smith and Jones or Kung Fu - for those who can remember back that far.

* Sci-fi Trilogy - again something I spec'd out long ago and just haven't gotten to.

* Post Riyria Revelations - many different possibilities there and different "groups of characters" could be explored. (I won't say more because it would mean spoilers but you can pretty much guess what those might be.

And that's assuming nothing 'new' comes to mind in the meantime. I've already had 5 books that came out of nowhere (Hollow World, The sci-fi trilogy, and the G-book) so more will likely pop up and will need to be put not he list.

That's probably way more than you wanted to know, but all I can do is answer as completely as I can. Lots of books to write...I tend to be very serial in my writing and until I get finished with one thing, I don't plan too much for "what's next." So, let's see how I feel after I get the six books I've recently written edited, and then we'll take it from there. Thanks for asking.
