Kelley
Kelley asked Lawrence Watt-Evans:

Which of your books has the most important and active heroine(s)?

Lawrence Watt-Evans Interesting question. Novels with female protagonists: Nightside City, Realms of Light, Ithanalin's Restoration, and The Spell of the Black Dagger -- embarrassingly few. The Blood of a Dragon has a split lead, but Dumery (male) gets more attention.

I'd have to go with Carlisle Hsing, from Nightside City and Realms of Light, as the most active and important.
