Something happens in the very beginning that if you haven't read the prior series, it won't have near the impact. So if you're not big on FEELS, then, sure, you don't need to read SEVEN REALMS. But if you do love the emotional impact a good book can have in you, you definitely should. FLAMECASTER's characters are the children of the SEVEN REALMS characters, for the love of Pete.(less)
