I'm afraid not, sadly. I'm hardly even touring in the US anymore. It's very tiring and it takes me away from writing. (No, I can't write while I travel. I'm much too ADHD.) The good news is that staying home more allows me to write books faster!

First, I just want to say thanks, your stories have helped so many of us feel seen, especially kids who don’t always feel like they belong. I’ve noticed that your books often touch on serious themes and I was wondering if you’ve ever thought about exploring a character who struggles with self-harm or similar emotional pain? I understand this is a really sensitive topic, especially in books written for middle-graders!

Hi Rick, as an elementary school teacher I’ve always loved how diverse the characters in your novel are – ethnicity, gender, and learning differences. I especially love that through Percy readers are able to see how students with dyslexia and/or ADHD think differently and creatively. My question is, will any characters in The Sword of Summer have learning differences?
