The books are supposed to stand alone, but I would read the first few before reading this one so that you will understand the main relationships. Personally, I have enjoyed reading them in order. A very good series.

While is stands on its own I would recommend starting with the Templar Legacy and read all the Cotton Malone series. My fourth novel - The Shackleton Affair is similar although faster in pace.
