Will Stotts-Jr
Will Stotts-Jr asked Elizabeth Gilbert:

What do you think are some of the biggest barriers to creativity in our society today?

Elizabeth Gilbert The biggest problem is people's pathological sense of self-hatred and low self-worth. If you think you're a pathetic piece of garbage, you will have a difficult time stepping into a sense of worthiness strong enough to allow you to dare to create something. If you don't believe you are related to everything and everyone in the world, you will never allow yourself to engage in that world with open eyes and an open heart. If you don't think you deserve to be here, you won't ever allow yourself to be here. The beginning of creativity is what the poet David Whyte calls "the arrogance of belonging" — which is to say, the certainty that you are a child of the universe, allowed and welcome to participate in creation.
