Goodreads asked Michael Andre McPherson:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Michael Andre McPherson Meeting new people and going new places—in my head. Actually, I love going places to research my work too. I've been to nearly every country in central Asia, through most of eastern Europe and Russia, and of course through several great states in the USA.

Fun memory: I had lunch in a restaurant in Romania where Vlad Tepes (aka Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula) was born. It's odd travel but it's a lot of fun.

I never go anywhere without thinking about setting a novel in the place I'm visiting.
