First of all I just want to say that the entire Lockwood series is fabulous and it's my dream to write books like that some day... any advice for an aspiring (teen) writer?

Jonathan Stroud Thanks! Yep - first off, write stuff that interests and entertains you. At the same time, don't be afraid to experiment with forms - it's important to try different styles and themes in order to discover your true voice. Read lots, write regularly, and don't be discouraged if things don't work out: even half-finished pieces are valuable - it's all about honing your craft. Show your pieces to people you trust - who will tell you the good and the bad. Listen to them, absorb useful stuff, then plough on undeterred! Good luck!
