Current reading (and loving) your first Far From Home series. to me it has the flavor of Star Trek adventures (that's a compliment). Is that where you drew some of your inspiration?

Tony Healey Partially. Battlestar Galactica, aspects of Star Wars, etc, were also a big influence. I don't think you can write Military SF without being influenced by these kinds of shows, movies and books. It's all very much part of the toolbox.
