I have read many of your novels and enjoy reading them very much. Your characters are well fleshed out. Many have become like friends, especially the O'Brien clan and friends. I am interested in knowing what type of research you do. Also, do you create your characters before writing the story or do they come alive as you write the story, especially the sagas? A lot of my research depends on the character and whether they have a personality trait or career that I need to know more about. I tend to write fairly long synopses when I start a book or series, so I have a pretty good feel for the main characters and the tone of the story before I start writing the actual book.

How do you get you're inspiration to write these wonderful stories? Do you have constant storylines running through your head. Are there any characters that you love to hate? Have you ever written a book and thought after it was published that you didn't like a certain twist in the story or ending, that you would like to go back and change?
