Goodreads asked Jake Enholm:

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Jake Enholm For me, it's creating my own universe. It's my universe, and I can do anything I want, but since it's science fiction it has to be fairly plausible. I had a real issue with putting faster than light drives into my story, because some people believe that Einstein's theory of relativity forbids FTL drives. But I got to solve that problem, and that was fun too. The TOR doesn't forbid faster than light travel, it just says as you get up to the speed of light, your mass becomes infinite, so you'll never reach the speed of light. But it doesn't restrict travel faster than the speed of light.
