How did you come up with Joey Pigza's disorder? I think it is neat to read about and really realistic.

I knew kids just like "Joey" when I was a kid. People frequently said bad things about them because they were difficult to teach, and difficult to follow orders, and difficult ... for a lot of things. As an author I go into schools all the time and there are still a lot of kids like "Joey." But they are more understood now that ADHD has received a lot more attention. I always love those kids. They are very smart, very funny and hard to pin down. Thanks, jg
