Goodreads asked Sherryl Woods:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Sherryl Woods Sit in front of a computer and do it! Talking about wanting to write or dreaming about being a writer won't get you there. You have to sit down and BE a writer. That first sentence or first page or even the first book may not be great, but until you've done it, you can't call yourself a writer. And once that first chapter or book is done, put on your thick writer skin and listen to comments from people you trust. If one criticism keeps popping up, you might need to pay attention to it.
