L.J. Suarez asked Ann Livi Andrews:

Hi Ann, I'm a new indie-author and last month I published a short story on Amazon Kindle. I would like to get the word out about my story here on Goodreads. My question is, where on Goodreads can I go to promote my work? Can I include a link to the amazon page where readers may download it? Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! L.J.

Ann Livi Andrews Hi L.J.!

There are lots of groups within the Goodreads community -- even ones who are asking for books to read and review. I'd start by looking for one that fits your genre.

Within the Support for Indie Authors group that I host, we have a Marketplace section where you can list any promotions you're running on your work as well as a Book Review Request section where you can post a link to your work in the hopes of getting some additional reviews.

There are many authors who send out letters to readers and reviewers asking them to read and review their work, but this can be met with some animosity from the readers. It's not something I've ever attempted, but I've had a friend who has found some success by going that route.

I hope this helps!

Thanks!
Ann
