Goodreads asked John Hopkins:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

John Hopkins Hmm, I don't know. I'm drawing a blank. Sorry, couldn't resist. Actually, when I write, I have a fairly clear outline prepared in advance. So, with that in place, I can begin to fill in the blanks and flesh out the story. When the words don't flow from the brain through the keyboard, it's usually best to get up and do something else for a while.
