Good to hear from you. 'Malice' is around 210,000 words, give or take. As far as the lexile goes - this is the first time I've ever heard that word! I had to google it - apparently it's a kind of number-based system used in the USA, which assesses age-approriateness to a book. As far as I'm aware this system has never been applied to Malice, but I could be wrong! As far as age-appropriate levels, my youngest son is 12 years old, and he has read and understood Malice. There is a certain level of realism to the battles. There's no graphic sex or language. I don't know if that helps you.

In the very first book, you break so many rules for first-time, unpublished authors--a staggering number of PoV characters, massive and complex worldbuilding, a crazy word count to name a few. What was it like searching for a publisher who believed in your story and your talent?
