A Swirl Girl answers “I just really didn't get the ending of the...”

I just really didn't get the ending of the book other than these creatures were going on in to the future for a new beginning for mankind??? beats me I missed something there???????? can anyone explain the ending and point of story?????

It's what I call a "quickie ending" - Koontz just basically ended the book instead of expanding and explaining on some of the details. He also could have taken time to wrap up some of the loose ends with a bit more explanation. For example, did the lawyer wind up going to jail? Did his hit man rat him out? Who/what caused his experience in the forest?? What about the guy with the grenade? Was he simply losing his mind, or were those things actually happening? Did Cammy and Grady eventually become a couple?? Too many loose ends were not wrapped up.(less)
