Realize that writing is a craft, not some magic untangible talent that you either have or don't have. Talent is a part of it, but a relatively minor part. Study the craft, learn and improve. Tip number two is to subject your work to criticism. It can be hard, but it is essential to your success as a writer. To quote David Brin: "Criticism is the only antidote to error."

Congratulations! I know there's a fee to have a book considered. Do you think the investment was worth it? Have you gotten exposure from the award that translated into book sales? Has anyone approached about a screen play?
