Kenneth Decroo asked Glynnis Campbell:

When I did my post-doc at Oxford, my roommate was from Selkirk. I spend a considerable part of my misspent youth with her on the Tweed and the borderlands! I think I need to visit your books! What parts of Scotland give you the most inspiration?

Glynnis Campbell This is a difficult question, because there's so much packed into one small country. (By the way, one of my heroines is from Selkirk!) For history, Edinburgh and Stirling are fantastic since a lot has been preserved. For landscape, Glencoe is breathtaking, and I found Roslin Glen and Dollar Glen full of enchantment. I have yet to visit the very far north or any of the islands, which I'd love to do. Of course, I'm also inspired by the people, who by nature are friendly, pragmatic, and lovably rough around the edges. Can you tell I'm hankering to return?
