Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Priya Prithiviraj 'Purple Kisses' was a poem I wrote one summer inspired by a wall of bougainvillea at my university. It was first published in the Linnet's Wings magazine and subsequently reprinted in a couple of others. As I received positive reviews about the poem, I kept thinking about the original image that the reader will probably never see. That is when I thought about the idea of illustrating the poem line by line into a single poem picture book.
