Amber Smitham
Amber Smitham asked Cornelia Funke:

How do you get all the ideas and stick to what your writing?

Cornelia Funke The world is brimming with ideas and stories, Amber!:) The hardest part is to pick the right one, one that inspires you to weave your story so rich and dense, that it will fly. It has to connect to your own passions and fears, but also to things that you may not know yet about life, the world, yourselves, others....so that you start exploring while you are writing. Robert Louis Stevenson once said that we don't read stories for their plot, but for the voice of the author, his/her way to see the world. You are the guide for your reader, the one who leads the trip. If you are invisible or not curious about the journey, your reader will soon wonder off. So...when you want to give up on a story, you mostly didn't look closely enough at what it wants to be. when it gets difficult, it gets interesting:)
