I'm often inspired by something dreadful (or exciting) that has happened - betrayals, unusual sides of human nature... and I work on these ideas as I walk and climb in our hills with my husband - often trailing behind him as he holds forth on another subject! I'm an expect in the encouraging "Oh really?" "Tell me more?" when I notice him pause... then I scurry back into my plot-planning!
