Goodreads asked Hannah Heat:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Hannah Heat My own persona belief is that the humanities and storytelling specifically are a very human activity which serves a purpose for our evolutionary heritage. The Arts help society make sense of things which don't make any sense; they sort out the confusion caused by a higher intelligence. Because of that, I believe anyone, for whatever reason, has the obligation to write and create, not just for themselves, but for the one (or more) person who might seek out their work. It truly makes a difference, and in a general way, contributes to a thriving culture, the only real bulwark against backwardness, despotism, ignorance, and barbarism we humans have.

In other words, writing makes life truly matter and it's never wasted time. If you start from a genuine place of curiosity and child-like wonder, you'll get better.
