Goodreads asked Lydia Rodriguez-Clement:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Lydia Rodriguez-Clement Wow, this is a tough question. First thing is, is that if you wake up wanting to write, and you make time to write with a busy life, and you have that drive to learn how to writer better? Then, you are a writer. Second: You have to have thick skin.
Traditional publishing is very difficult, but if that is what you want, then follow the steps to get there.
Indie publishing is even more difficult, but well worth it if you want to keep your copyrights for example.
You have to be willing to do the work, and not just writing the story. That means your PR; Facebook, fanpage, website, twitter, instagram, and yes, goodreads, book signing, bloggers. Learn how to polish up your writing. Ask other Authors questions, and read, read, read.
Remember also to take time to unwind, have fun with it, connect with readers. So, you might have to organize your time between work, writing, and family.....
