Renee Carlino I think for most men, actions speak louder than words. He was late but he still came back to New York to be with Grace. He believed Grace would be there waiting for him. When she was gone, I think he felt betrayed. It's been a long time since I dated but I do remember there being a great sense of uncertainty. Before a relationship is in a committed phase, I think it's hard to feel secure. Grace and Matt had known each other for less than a year total. Maybe he thought she wanted nothing to do with him or changed her mind. She didn't leave a note. I also think he had a distraction in Elizabeth. It's not perfect that this happened to Matt and Grace but life is not perfect. I think I tried to express the feeling that both Grace and Matt wondered, "What did you think of me? Did you think I wasn't invested? Did you think I wasn't head over-heels in love with you?" Young, new relationships can be confusing. Egos and insecurities are more on the surface, I think, than in an established relationship. You gave me a lot to think about. I hope I explained this well so that the motive was clearer. Great, great, question. Thank you, Angela.
