Katelyn asked Amy Engel:

The Book of Ivy is tied for first place in my favorite books of all time (I've read it at least five times), and I was wondering what made you decide to write the book?

Amy Engel Hi Katelyn,

I'm not really sure what made me write the book. The idea for Ivy's character just popped into my head--a girl forced into marriage with a boy she's been coached to kill--and the rest just flowed from there. I've always been interested in family dynamics and how our families influence and shape us, so that obviously came into play a lot when I was writing the book. I'm so glad you love The Book of Ivy and thanks for your question!
