I feel you, OP. I found Nikki to be super hypocritical. She was so superficial and harboured a lot of the negative traits she hated in Mackenzie. She spent the entire first book whinging about how mean Mackenzie is, while tormenting her sister and writing mean, nasty things about EVERYBODY behind their backs. Sure, Mackenzie is no prized pig, but the main difference is that Mackenzie eventually gets what's coming to her. Nikki however wins at everything in the end, despite giving up when it mattered the most. Her victory feels unearned in the long run.

Not mean. Just sets a bad example. I suppose Mackenzie in a way is the punishment.

I know right?
I hate the bad example!

I think it's because only her diary knows her dirty secrets, and 'cause she didn't shout them out loud for all the world to hear. No one can punish her if they don't know what she did.

well actually would you like it if you had parents who would embarrass you just think about if you hate the book so much don't read it it is that simple
Mariam
she was never THAAAT mean OK maybe she was a little but only her diary knows so shhhhh
Malaya
Yes. She is such a spoiled brat, and she talks trash about everyone else like they're WORSE then her. (Which they are not.) If you ask me, she deserves a beating for every rude comment she's made!
Princess
Maybe cause she’s the main character so she shouldn’t get punished
Or it’s because her parents don’t care at all about her doing that................

Megan
She never shares her secrets. Her diary is the only one that knows.
Phoebe
I think Mackenzie should get the punishment.

Guys, if you were in Nikki's shoes what would you do? And if you aren't an only child, please stop saying that Nikki hates Brianna. Every sibling being hates the other sometimes. If you don't like this book, just ignore it.
